Tap on highlighted terms to inspect classical root (धातु), grammatical case, and philosophical clarity:

Famous bliss-calculation. The base unit: a virile, learned, strong young man with all wealth. Bliss multiplies a hundred-fold across nine stages until reaching Brahman. Each level's bliss is also accessible to the desireless śrotriya — he has Brahman-bliss directly.

Out of fear of him the wind blows; out of fear the sun rises; out of fear Agni, Indra, and Death the fifth run. Now the calculation of bliss: take a young man — well-educated, prompt, firm, strong — possessing all wealth of the earth. That is one human-bliss. A hundred human-blisses make one manuṣya-gandharva bliss — and also belong to a śrotriya free from desire. A hundred of those make one deva-gandharva bliss... [the cascade continues through pitṛs, ājāna-devas, karma-devas, devas, Indra, Bṛhaspati, Prajāpati, and finally Brahman] — and the same belongs to a śrotriya free from desire.

Simple explanation

Editorial explanation, not scripture

Modern reflection

Editorial reflection, not scripture

शोध संदर्भResearch context · not scriptureComparative Research Noteशोध टिप्पणी

A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
