Brahman is not distant. He is manifest (āviḥ), close at hand (sannihita), moving in the heart-cave (guhā-cara). The entire phenomenal world — moving, breathing, blinking — is supported in him. He is sat (being) and asat (non-being), beyond conventional cognition.
Manifest, close at hand, moving in the cave — the great abode is set right here. All this is supported in it — what moves, what breathes, what blinks. Know it as both being and non-being, the supremely desirable, beyond cognition, the highest of all in creatures.

Simple explanation
Editorial explanation, not scripture
Modern reflection
Editorial reflection, not scripture

A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
