- The Lanka Kanda identifies the four great inner enemies
kama (compulsive desire), krodha (reactive anger), mada (intoxicating pride), and lobha (insatiable greed). These are Ravana's defining qualities — and his Lanka is their kingdom. The war of the Ramayana is not geopolitical
- it is internal. Each person carries a Lanka within. Tulsidas's prescription is unambiguous: not suppression, not management techniques, but replacement
fill the space that these consume with devotion to what is genuinely good.
Lust, anger, pride, and greed — O Lord, these are all the paths to hell. Abandon them all and worship Raghuvira — worship Him, the destroyer of the world's pain.

Simple explanation
Editorial explanation, not scripture
Modern reflection
Editorial reflection, not scripture

शोध संदर्भResearch context · not scriptureComparative Research Noteशोध टिप्पणी
A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
