अध्याय १४
श्लोक 1
आदित्यो वा एष एतन्मण्डलं तपति तत्र ता ऋचस्तदृचा मण्डलँ स ऋचां लोकोऽथ य एष एतस्मिन्मण्डलेऽर्चिर्दीप्यते तानि सामानि स साम्नां लोकोऽथ य एष एतस्मिन्मण्डलेऽर्चिषि पुरुषस्तानि यजूँषि स यजुषा मण्डलँ स यजुषां लोकः सैषा त्रय्येव विद्या तपति य एषोऽन्तरादित्ये हिरण्मयः पुरुषः
ādityo vā eṣa etanmaṇḍalaṃ tapati tatra tā ṛcastadṛcā maṇḍala~ sa ṛcāṃ loko'tha ya eṣa etasminmaṇḍale'rcirdīpyate tāni sāmāni sa sāmnāṃ loko'tha ya eṣa etasminmaṇḍale'rciṣi puruṣastāni yajū~ṣi sa yajuṣā maṇḍala~ sa yajuṣāṃ lokaḥ saiṣā trayyeva vidyā tapati ya eṣo'ntarāditye hiraṇmayaḥ puruṣaḥ
हिन्दी अर्थ
यह आदित्य इस मण्डल को तपाता है; वहाँ वे ऋचाएँ हैं; ऋचा से मण्डल है; वह ऋचाओं का लोक है। फिर इस मण्डल में जो ज्वाला दीप्त होती है, वे साम हैं; वह सामों का लोक है। फिर इस मण्डल की ज्वाला में जो पुरुष है, वे यजुष् हैं; यजुष् से मण्डल है; वह यजुषों का लोक है। यही त्रयी विद्या तपती है — यह जो आदित्य के भीतर स्वर्णमय पुरुष है।

This Aditya indeed heats this orb; there those are the verses; the orb is by verses; it is the world of verses. Then the flame that shines in this orb — those are the Saman chants; it is the world of the chants. Then the Person in the flame of this orb — those are the Yajus formulas; the orb is by the Yajus; it is the world of the Yajus. This is the threefold knowledge itself that shines, the golden Person who is within the sun.
